The Digital Academy project consisted of creating a support website for the three-dimensional classes I teach Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry and 3D-Design Portfolio. The main goals were to first showcase the work of my students, secondly to expand support for the arts by having the site posted for easy access through our District Home page and third to give my portfolio students a way to follow their progress under the three categories required for portfolio Breadth, Concentration and Quality.
This activity is designed for middle school aged students, 12-14 years old, to compare their daily activity levels with the recommended activity level set by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) through the use of a Polar Active activity monitor for one week.
Every day landfills in the USA receive massive amounts of fabrics. The students will identify creative ways to reduce, recycle, and reuse clothing. With the trend to continue to do what is best for the environment this project turns little-or never used garments or household items into new/functionable garments or household items. The students then evaluate the the projects based on attached rubric and access the environmental impact .
